Type in English instead of Ukrainian or Russian? SwitchFix automatically detects the mistake on space, deletes the wrong characters, switches your layout, and retypes the right words.
One command, a macOS approval, then typing access. Free. macOS 13 or later.
Before you start: this free build is not notarized by Apple. If macOS shows “SwitchFix Not Opened,” click Done—then follow the Open Anyway screenshots. Approve only a download you trust.
/bin/bash -o pipefail -c 'curl --fail --location --silent --show-error https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rundax/SwitchFix/master/install.sh | /bin/bash'
Paste, press Return, and wait for installation. Do not use sudo.
Privacy & Security → scroll down to Security → Open Anyway → Open.
Enable Accessibility, follow the live checks, then use Try a correction.
Like Punto Switcher, but completely reimagined as a modern, lightweight, native macOS citizen.
When a later word confirms a layout mistake, SwitchFix can also fix earlier words in the same typing run—even words that looked valid on their own.
Zero telemetry, zero analytics, zero network requests. All dictionary lookups run locally. Secure password fields and tokens are automatically ignored.
Accidental trigger? Press Cmd+Z within 5 seconds to instantly restore what you typed. Or configure CapsLock as a one-tap layout revert key.
Selected a block of text in the wrong layout? Press Ctrl+Shift+Space to convert it into the correct language without retyping.
English pairs with your most recently used Ukrainian or Russian layout. Cyrillic languages stay separate, and native macOS language metadata helps discover your installed layouts.
Keep names, abbreviations, and favorite words as typed. Add them in Settings to protect them from automatic correction; explicit hotkey and layout-switch corrections still work.
Simple, reliable, deterministic keyboard layout switching.
Keystrokes pass through untouched to the active app while a lightweight buffer watches for word boundaries (space, enter, punctuation).
When a boundary is hit, the word is tested against local bloom filters and frequency dictionaries across configured alternate layouts.
If a match is found in an alternate language, SwitchFix switches the macOS input source, deletes mistyped letters, and outputs the correct text.
Legacy tools are bloated, abandoned, or constantly send telemetry. SwitchFix was created to do one job with surgical precision.
